Picked up a random poetry book From the crowded shelf. Quick easy hour read: Delight and wonder. Then, Found…
Touching Courage Amidst Conflict
Hesitant breathes,
Closed eyelids,
Imagined gentle waves
Hitting bare ankles,
Like a welcomed friend.
Open eyes to a crowd,
Four deep breaths in,
Tap then exhale out
As a trumpeter blowing
“Taps” in remembrance.
Lost in a sea of faces,
Masked and unmasked,
Carried forth
With heavy limbs,
A convergent concourse,
Dressed in shimmery
Red, white, green, blue
Cotton fabrics,
Mystified beyond comfort.
If only that ocean wave
Really was at my feet.
Able to let go of time,
Responsibility;
Solace in a moment
Instead of a hindrance,
Lost in a sea of shining stars,
Instead of sour-faced countenances.
Open your eyes,
Find an understanding hand,
Feel assured,
Move forward;
Let happen whatever is
Meant to happen.
Hide no more in dreamy waves;
Express yourself in confidence
And embrace your triumph.
Beautiful!
