Picked up a random poetry book From the crowded shelf. Quick easy hour read: Delight and wonder. Then, Found…
Threads of Paradoxes
Threads of paradoxes,
Enmeshed within waking moments.
A silverbell comes to me,
Via a reliable postal carrier,
From a thoughtful secret sister.
Guardian bell brings positive auras,
Double power,
Promised good luck.
The sweet gift reminiscent:
Isolated but not alone;
Decorated in metallic hearts,
Ringing in a welcome of friendship.
Young cousin,
Needing prayers,
Traveling towards anticipated care;
Totem pole cacti
Passing by as a long journey
Takes family to Stanford,
Where doctors and nurses
Work with great endurance
To replace a bad kidney
In such a little girl.
Sweet smiles and blonde curls,
Precious vulnerability
With ultimate trust,
Love to give.
At home, mind-changing
Moment to moment,
Book study on codependency;
Children’s story on kindness;
Follow up on an initial novel,
Faith and lack thereof in relationships;
Family movie with Tom Hanks
Playing beloved Fred Rogers,
Won’t You Be My Neighbor?;
Chocolate with decadent raspberry filling
Pleasuring my tastebuds,
Interrupting montage of thoughts,
Immune to indulgence.
Life moves rapidly,
Suddenly notice the departed sun,
On a night in July,
When all is quiet,
And Monday is imminent.
Find self back at the start;
Paradoxes, or an overstimulated mind?
