Picked up a random poetry book From the crowded shelf. Quick easy hour read: Delight and wonder. Then, Found…
Sudden Need to Pray
One moment,
All is well:
A gentle wind blows
Strands of hair around my pale cheeks.
Robin chirps his descent,
Set on a recurring path,
Natural desire to feed.
Daughters dancing
Twirling sparklers
Writing in the air with fiery flame.
Then,
The next moment,
Boom,
Beneath the rockets of Independence Day
Roaring through the neighborhood,
The unexpected news comes via text,
And I am
Humbled to my knees
In the prayer of healing
For a friend of a friend
After an accident.
My problems hinder me
From selfish prospects
While the reality of life
Knocks a punch in my stomach.
Crash,
Fall hard on unforgiving soil;
Feel the deep ache,
Sit on your chair,
Safe and alone,
All the while,
Hope springs forth
As a rosebud,
Enduring promises
And honest prayers
For healing.
Other’s joy,
Fireworks continue;
Resume your smile.
Hope pours forth
In heavenly endeavors.

This touched my heart.
I felt this on July 2nd. Our friend was in an accident in Yellowstone. I drove his wife to Idaho Falls H8spital during the night. We watched fireworks along the freeway from many different farm areas, as we talked and prayed.
I love your ability to put feelings into words.
Thank you ❤
