Timing in Mind
For the weird, unpredictable journey that is my life, I am constantly surprised. Do you ever have something happened you did not fully expect? Perhaps you prayed for a change in career or for improved health in a loved one, or you finally learned to stop trying so hard to improve your life and let God take the reins.
Unexpected blessings continue to enter my life. I have only God to thank for this and perhaps my persistence in hopeful prayer.
A few months ago I did not have any jobs, now I have two and an opportunity for a third. This latter is one that I have worked for the last six months to do: a contract writing job. I am beyond ecstatic at this opportunity.
Yet, I am concerned about my time management skills. My teaching job is relatively easy and enjoyable. My tutoring job is likewise rewarding. Both of these are set hours each week, but away from home. This new contract writing job will be work I can do at home in my spare time. For each job I am assigned, I will have 48 hours to complete and turn in my work. This is totally manageable too.
What is the problem then?
Well, like most moms, my problem is making sure I have enough quality time with my girls and my husband. They are the reason I strive to work hard, to set an example of finding work I am proud to do, and to plan special activities for us to share in together.
I do not have an answer now. In the meantime, I am going to take my girls out to lunch and to a Children’s Innovator Workshop at our local community center. I will make the most of the day all the while praying for answers.
