Time for Action
Another week has quickly passed me by and my to-do list from Monday is still not finished.
I write a list, or I try to write a list of things to get done each day, but it seems like so far this year, my list keeps carrying over each week.
Do you have this problem?
I even had made myself a calendar in my notepad for a schedule of blogs I would do in 2019. However, I have not actually put it into my Google Calendar. Well that is not helpful at all! Especially when I don’t even look at that page in my notebook!
I need to set myself a schedule and stick to it!
How do YOU accomplish this feat?
“If you don’t create a plan on a daily or weekly basis, becoming disorganized is easy. Even if you have all the resources in the world, not using your time wisely can cost you,” says Rebekah Epstein on Entrepreneur.com.
I know about being disorganized. My students and colleagues know about me being disorganized too. 🙂 I try over and over again. Still I sit at my desk with multiple piles of papers and tasks to do. I spend too long on one task, and then, do not get to the others.
How can you and I avoid disorganization to be able to achieve goals?
Now if I was using my SMART Goals like I had planned in December (remember?), I would probably be more successful at completing tasks.
Epstein offers these three tips for “Sticking to a Schedule”:
- “Embrace mornings, nights or weekends.”
- “Schedule everything in one spot or organizational device.” This is definitely a necessity for me!
- “Find a method that works for you. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all method for scheduling. Try a few different things and see what works. If your calendar or to-do list isn’t easy to use, you will never keep your schedule organized.”
Good advice, right? Now that we have read it, let’s actually follow through and get our tasks accomplished!
